Growing Tall Poppies

The Growing Tall Poppies program is a special initiative of the Silverton Foundation, honoring the memory of Lorna Ryan and focused on helping individuals achieve their potential. "Tall Poppies" is an Australian expression used to describe people who rise significantly above the norm in achievement. The purpose of this program is to help young Australians and others who have the potential to be "Tall Poppies" achieve their goals through targeted funding of scholarships, merit awards and continuing education grants.

While this is a new program for the Foundation, we expect to fund educational scholarships for promising students; programs focused on leadership; and development of community based projects which focus on disadvantaged individuals and underserved populations.
